Turbine Expansion Joints

Turbine expansion joints are custom built to meet our customer's specific requirements. DME must be provided with the maximum forces allowed by the turbine manufacturer in order to design properly.

Re-manufacturing is another option. DME can replace the failed bellows section and refurbish the old flanges and fittings at a substantial cost savings.

Turbine Flange and Standard Flange

Multi-ply bellows construction is widely used for turbine joints because of the very low spring forces and the vibration dampening characteristics.

Customers should provide the natural frequency of the turbine in order for our engineering department to design the frequency of the bellows to insure trouble free operation.
