Stainless exhaust bellows capsules are designed and manufactured here at DME. Stainless steel, Inconel 625 and other high nickel exhaust bellows are used in our expansion joints and are available in a variety of designs and sizes. These types of expansion joints can provide you with optimized vibration dampening as well as thermal piping growth isolation at the engine exhaust manifold. Expansion joints are required on such systems in order to absorb the thermal expansion throughout the exhaust piping layout. Here at DME, you can have your choice of single ply or multi-ply exhaust bellow capsules. Let our sales engineers help you to select just the right expansion joint for your system. We have fixed flanged exhaust bellows expansion joints with many options for custom flanges. Our ½" thick plate flanges are the most common and economical connections being used in exhaust systems and blowers today. DME keeps an extensive inventory of carbon steel and stainless steel flanges ready to weld to the bellows. We also have the Vanstone flange exhaust bellows assembly available for you which have floating flanges that help eliminate bolt alignment problems. The stub ends of the vanstone or floating flanges are fabricated in stainless as well as other high temperature alloy materials. Carbon steel as a material for back up flanges is also available for customers as a more affordable alternative. We also have multi-ply flanged exhaust bellows that gives customers the benefit of using expansion joints that have a very low spring rate and very high cycle life. Not only will these bellows absorb certain amounts of thermal expansion, they can also help absorb and isolate engine vibrations preventing damage to the piping system. Multi-ply bellows expansion joints are vital for critical operations such as in marine exhaust, prime power generators and co-generation applications and also for critical back-up generators.
Here at DME, we also have stainless exhaust bellows expansion joints are also used for low pressure ducting systems that operate at high temperatures. Our bellows size range is from 1-1/2” to 104” inside diameters. Each bellows is designed and engineered with state of the art EJMA computer programs. Custom designing a bellows to meet the conditions of your system means you can expect the ultimate performance and longevity. This is all available to you at no additional cost or increased delivery times. Single-ply and multi-ply bellows can be fabricated with carbon steel tube and pipe ends ready for you to weld to your fittings or piping. DME also manufactures tube end exhaust bellows that can be furnished in any length required for any installation. This allows customers to easily connect their own flanges or fittings to the tube ends through welding. We can fabricate these bellows with ends in any size, thickness or alloy.
We also manufacture exhaust bellows with flow liners if you require them. A flow liner is an internal tube that will smooth out the flow and prevent failure in high velocity applications. Here at DME, we also manufacture several other expansion joint accessories such as removable shrouds or covers, pyrometer ports, tie rods etc…. Shrouds are required on some expansion joints in order to protect the bellows from external damage or prevent personnel from contacting the hot joint. The removable shroud can also help deflect steam and other media in an event of a leak or pipeline failure.
