Steve Moore, the president and co-owner of DME, has worked with the company for the past 37 years. Steve started his career with a railroad company, where he worked as an electrician. Steve’s career path changed when he joined his brothers and his father, Dale Moore, in establishing a family business – DME. After Dale Moore retired, Steve took over as president of DME. Steve describes the job of president as being like a “second marriage;” a great deal of time and effort is required. In his capacity as president, Steve’s main focus is maintaining the health of the company by producing a quality product at a competitive price, always ensuring the satisfaction of the customer, and developing the expertise of his dedicated and talented team members. Steve has an “open door” policy for all team members and welcomes and invites all employee input.
Though generally easy going, Steve is serious about his family business and is fully committed to DME and overseeing its success. Steve feels that the most important element for DME’s continued growth and achievement is taking care of his employees.

One of the most rewarding parts of Steve’s job is the sense of family shared by his employees and the investment he feels in their lives and success.
DME began as a family business, and has grown from four employees to over seventy. Even at its current size, Steve and his DME employees all feel like one large family. Steve works hard to ensure this working environment and is proud of the team he has assembled. They all share in the family spirit and all have a common commitment to high quality production and customer care. Steve finds great fulfillment in keeping the same basic principles his father had when he started the business 38 years ago; manufacturing high quality products and maintaining first class customer service, while also helping the customer with any special application, solving their problems, and making the customer’s job easier.
Steve was born in Southern California, and continued his education with a four-year electrical apprenticeship. He also has 35 years of hands on experience in flex piping components and seismic connectors. Steve has been married to his wife Debbie for over 30 years and has two grown daughters, Jennifer and Jessica. As a family they enjoyed camping at different beaches and along the Colorado River, going to the kids’ softball games, and visiting Steve’s parents in Hawaii. Jennifer is now married and has children of her own, and Jessica is a third generation Moore employee with DME. In his free time,
Steve likes riding his Harley, deep-sea fishing, or playing golf. He also enjoys anything to do with the water or ocean, especially surfing. The family still enjoys visiting Steve’s parents, in Hawaii, several times a year. In Hawaii, Steve enjoys taking advantage of the beautiful beaches and water-centric life style. Another tropical locale that Steve would love to visit is the island of Fiji.
Steve lives his life and runs his family business with the motto; “treat people as you want to be treated yourself.” Though the idea is basic, Steve feels that it applies to all aspects of life and will lead one in the right direction. Steve is proud of DME’s successes and works tirelessly to ensure the continued growth of the business, to maintain DME’s relationships with its customers, and fostering the happiness and quality of life for DME’s employees.
