DME Employee David Rivera

David Rivera, is part of DME’s Technical Sales Team. He came to DME six years ago starting out in manufacturing flexible metal hose assemblies.  From day one, David showed that he was a team player with a strong work ethic and a focus on building quality products on schedule.  Two years later when he was asked if he was interested in joining the sales team, he jumped at the chance.  After four years working closely with DME’s veteran engineers, David is very knowledgeable in product applications and the custom design of pressure expansion joints.

David says the most rewarding part of his job is the creative process involved in helping a customer fulfill an urgent need.  It is truly fulfilling to be presented with a problem and then be able to design, create, and provide a solution for a customer. Being bilingual, David is able to support DME’s growing list of International, Spanish speaking customers.  He is able to make the customers feel confident that DME clearly understands their requirements by being able to communicate the complexities and technicalities of their needs.  David says that it is gratifying to be able to help these customers and make them feel fully supported by DME.

David was born and raised in El Salvador, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a technical degree in Computer Technology.  Since immigrating to the United States, he has continued his education and has earned another degree in Computerized Accounting.  David has always had a great motivation for education; from as far back as grade school he remembers enjoying math and natural sciences.  He believes that you have to enjoy and be inspired by your subject, and then the learning will come easily.  When David is not at work or school, he spends his time with his wife and two small children.  They love relaxing at the park with friends and family, playing soccer and volleyball, and chasing the kids around. David also enjoys collecting old coins, a hobby he has had since finding an old Malaysian coin when he was 10 years old.  David’s wife parents are from Ecuador. David and his family have been fortunate to visit this beautiful country to visit her family.  He loves Ecuador’s diversity in climate: hot valleys, year-round snowy mountains, tropical jungles, a beautiful coast, and warm ocean. He has developed an appreciation for that country and is moved by the kindness of the people and the richness of the culture and traditions.

David’s motto for life is, “Respect is everything.  It is where everything starts or where everything ends.”  David learned the value of respect and hard work by watching his mother, who raised him well and did everything in her power to provide him with a good life. David describes himself as, “A typical guy,” but he is anything but typical.  He is a hard working family man who takes great pride in his children, his work, and his dedication to continued education.  David has made significant contributions to the continued success of the company and is a valued member of the DME family.
