DME Expansion Joints is now ISO9001:2008 Certified! 

We are very proud of this major accomplishment. In basic terms, ISO 9001:2008 certification establishes clear policies and procedures and provides directions to the company and employees on all levels. It also ensures that resources are focused and employees empowered and prioritized to make decisions in support of customers.

Our motivation to pursue ISO was twofold. 1)  ISO certification was a goal we set two years ago to keep the company moving forward and to meet the challenges of a competitive marketplace; and 2) We listened to our customers many of which are now requiring that their suppliers of critical components comply with the ISO standard.

To prepare for certification, we at DME, spent over a year documenting our processes, developing procedures and work instructions to meet the requirements of the ISO standard.  To help us with this, we enlisted the consulting services of Michael Madewell of ISOREADY.  With his guidance, we were able to significantly shorten the entire process and achieve compliance to the ISO standard.

We received our ISO certification through ABSQuality Evaluations a recognized ISO Registrar.  The Auditor from ABS, Tim Landerville, performed both the 1 day Stage 1 and the intensive 4 day stage 2 audits culminating in certification onFebruary 18, 2012..

At DME, we are very excited about the benefits and value that operating under an ISO system will bring. ISO brings standardization and consistency to everything we do and will keep the company on the path of continual improvement.

By being an ISO 9001:2008 certified company, our new customers can be confident that their schedules will be met and that our product will conform to their requirements each and every time.  For our long term customers, you will find that DME is better able to meet your increasing demands for responsiveness, competitiveness and product quality.

“I am pleased to inform you that I am recommending DME, Incorporated for certification to ISO9001:2008.  Congratulations, you passed!”  That was the news received by all DME associates at the closing meeting of the Stage II ISO9001:2008 Quality Management System certification audit.   The message delivered Thursday, February 9^th, by Tim Landerville, Auditor for ABS Quality Evaluations, was met by applause and cheers from the crowd, many of who spent long hours preparing for ISO certification.  On February 24^th, our certificate was received from ABS, but we are not proclaiming mission accomplished.  Being an ISO company is a journey, not a destination.  To realize the benefits of improved customer satisfaction, product quality and cost requires focus, dedication and commitment on a daily basis.  I have no doubt that the DME team is up to the task. That said, Congratulations to everyone in the DME family.  This is a major accomplishment and one to be proud of.
